This week, Walton County celebrated the opening of the Bets "Beachmama" Haynes Regional Beach Access at Hotz Avenue. While the new observation deck, boardwalk, showers, and community history station are impressive, beachgoers may be most excited about the addition of public restrooms. This story is about more than bathrooms.

It's about Beachmama's legacy, the local who helped preserve what would become Grayton Beach State Park.
