Homemade Fig Newtons💙
(Commercially processed fig newtons are loaded with chemicals and preservatives so I like to bake my own)

Did you know you can order cases of fruit from The Local Store
I just picked up the most beautiful figs I’ve ever tasted.

These were so fun to make and tastes amazing.

🧑🏽‍🍳 recipe👇🏽
4 oz grass feed butter or 8 TBS
2 eggs from my chickens
1/4 cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp BP
1/4 tsp BS
1 cup of all purpose flour
3/4 cup oat flour or regular flour
1/3 cup WW flour

Filling
Figs
Splash water
Lemon zest
Lemon juice
1/4 brown sugar or honey
Cook down till thick
Add vanilla
Bake 350 18min

Tips: for a more chewy cookie use all purpose flour instead of the oat flour
And you can also use oranges instead of lemons and try for all organic higher quality ingredients
