The Old Store

The Old Store Originally built in 1900 and reopened in 2022, the Old Store features local gifts, foods, and more. We are on the corner of Grassy Creek Rd and Old Hwy 16.

Located in historic Grassy Creek, the Old Store features local foods, crafts, gifts, u-pick blueberries, a Christmas tree education center, and a large deck to sit a spell and enjoy the landscape. The original store was built ca 1900 and was renovated and reopened in 2022. Directions: We are located on the NC/VA state line across from the Grassy Creek post office. To find us, turn at the Stateline

Outpost & Grub on Hwy 16 (turn right if headed north into VA, left if headed south toward NC). Go up and over the hill past the old Virginia-Carolina High School, the Grassy Creek Baptist Church, and the Grassy Creek United Methodist Church.

Join us at The Old Store for a live sourdough demonstration with vendor Paula Williams of Sweet Aromas!

Paula will share the basics of this timeless craft—from caring for a starter to baking a beautiful loaf—and answer your questions along the way. Whether you are brand new to sourdough or hoping to refine your technique, you’ll leave inspired and ready to try it at home.

Each participant will also receive a few take-home goodies to help get your own sourdough journey started.

Cost: $20 per person

A little piece of Grassy Creek made its way to Ohio this weekend! 🌲

Dad and I were proud to sport our The Old Store apparel while spending time with family at a family reunion on mom’s side of the family.

We loved seeing so many of you enjoy the store this Father’s Day weekend, too—it looks like lots of fathers and families made some sweet memories together!

What a joy it was to host Corrie Freeman’s 50th birthday celebration at The Old Store pavilion this past weekend!

More than 100 family members, friends, former students, colleagues, and community members gathered to celebrate a woman who has spent 30 years shaping young lives in the classroom. As a beloved fourth-grade teacher, Corrie has made a lasting impact on generations of children and families.

The laughter, stories, and hugs shared throughout the afternoon were a beautiful reflection of the love and appreciation so many people have for her.

Happy 50th Birthday, Corrie! Thank you for all you’ve given to our community over the years. We were honored to be part of your special day. 🎂🌸
