Several weeks ago Dr. Susan "Arizona" Gleason experienced a bilateral stroke. She passed away on May 5th.

Sister Janet and nephew Tom are working on continuing her educational interests and starting to set up the Gvtradingpost on Shopify to continue making items for sale available to the public. In the days to come, some items will be featured on the Grass Valley Trading Post page and can be purchased by direct messages.

Your love and support are appreciated during this time of transition.

For those of you at the Society for California Archaeology meetings, we are not attending this year. Unfortunately each time the meetings have been in the San Francisco area, we have ended up in the red. Therefore we aren’t there this year but will be at the Great Basin Anthropology meetings in Reno and at the SCA meetings next year.

As I’ve been going through my merchandise there have been a few things that I’ve found that are now broken. So before tossing them I figured that I’d offer them to you guys here because they are good artifact curation breakage examples. These are some Emu Egg Beads that are broken. Currently there are three of them but there may be a few more. If you’d like them, just send me a note here on Facebook because I’m offering them to you just for the price of shipping. There just is too much personal labour involved to just throw them in the trash can.

Finished the next big basket and we’re gonna put it up here for auction. It is 12” across at the bottom and close to 17” across at the top. It is a little more than four inches deep. It starts with a leather patch in the bottom from Morea Designs. It took Susan a bit over 50 hours to make this piece. We will start the auction at $100 and it will end next Wednesday at 5 PM. Shipping will be an additional $15 unless you make other arrangements. If this piece does not sell in this auction, it will be available for $250 at a future show. Make your bid now!!
