Hey zip liners! Whether you purchase a high quality zip line from us, or found a different source, setting your sag is very important. Having sag not only controls rider speed, but it ensures that the tension on your line is set correctly. You should have 2' of deflection per 100' of line at the lowest point when loaded vs unloaded with a rider. The quickest way to measure sag, is to sling a rope over the cable after you have the line-up about 3/4 of the distance from the launch point. Measure the distance of the line unloaded to the ground, then put your weight on it and do the same measurement. A properly tensioned zip line is a happy zip line.

Did you know that you can install a zip line that will allow you to launch from dirt, and dismount onto dirt. Here is an good example of a quick and dirty zip line. This one is 200' long, starts on a hill side and ends in a field. Not all zip lines are this easy to install, but this is a great type of landscape for a zip line.
