Sand Awake is home décor and more!

Our homes are the place where we are comfortable and can truly be ourselves. The items in our home are filled with love and memories that we can share with others. Our products represent the importance of the comfort of our homes and the peace within it.

We are passionate about creativity, quality goods, and supporting the unique creations from artisans and suppliers. We believe that the future is locally owned and ethically sourced. Purchasing our products supports and benefits many artisans in low-income communities with fair wages and sustainable practices.

Sand Awake was created to help small artisan suppliers generate more revenue through the retailing of home décor and goods. When you buy from a small business, you are helping every day people achieve a dream. Every single order makes a real difference in the life of a family or person like you and me.

All of our products are artisanal creations with almost all being hand crafted. Most of our suppliers are women-owned businesses with eco-friendly practices and many of our products are also made in the USA. A large proportion of our products are sustainability made with recycled plastic textiles.

Our shipping materials include compostable packing peanuts and crinkle paper, recycled materials, and reusable drawstring muslin bags. We ask for our customers to reuse our packaging materials for gifts or other purposes.

Why 'Sand Awake'?

The name ended up having a lot more meaning than originally expected. "Sand" relates to a portion of the founders name, Sandra, but that is not what sparked the creation of the name. The "Sand" portion of the name came about through the inspiration of several pieces of biblical scripture, Mexican-American culture, and simply, desert sand in itself.

"Awake" refers to finding purpose, creating a mission, pursuing endless possibilities, and making the world a better place. Together, both words mean inspiration, creation, and breathing life to make something out of nothing.
