Planning a wedding this summer? 💒 Here are five more ideas on how to stay on budget by thrifting and DIYing:

1. Old books 📚 - Believe it or not, these can be used for beautiful and unique centerpieces when paired with some vintage fabrics, flowers, and other decor.

2. Accent napkins 🍽️ - Imagine each table with multiple coordinating colors of napkins. This is an easy way to add pops of color and costs as much or less than renting.

3. Stamps 🌷- For the couples personalizing every inch of the wedding, buying some ink stamps to use on envelopes of invites or thank you cards goes a long way.

4. Jars 🍯 - Guests love food as party favors. Jars decorated with lace, ribbon, and a note with jam, honey, or vanilla extract inside can never go wrong.

5. Bridesmaid dresses 👗- Dresses don’t need to match, and sometimes the look of imperfection can be even more beautiful. Think about making a day out of thrifting bridesmaid dresses with lunch and nails on the bride.

A question we often receive is whether we take Christmas products when it’s not Christmastime. The answer is YES, and Rob can tell you all about it!

Rob volunteers at our off-site storage location (“the warehouse”), where he stores and organizes thousands of seasonal décor items.

He usually visits the off-site location one to three times each week, and there are often cartloads of boxes waiting for him to unload. This role requires high attention to detail, organization, and strength to move so many boxes.

When volunteering, Rob most looks forward to seeing his fellow volunteers. Being retired and no longer going into an office every day, he loves having this community.

🌟A little more about Rob: He loves to travel, play golf, participate in fitness activities like walking and strength training, and spend time with his family. In November, he will become a grandpa, which he is so excited about!

Rob has lived in Michigan his whole life, growing up in Greenville. After graduating from Aquinas College, he worked at Foremost Insurance, where he met his wife, Susan. Then afterwards, he joined his family’s media business, Stafford Media. There he was a third-generation business owner and led the company until its sale in 2019.

We are so thankful for Rob, the critical work he does for the store, and the wonderful person he is in our community. Thank you, Rob!

When John comes in on Thursdays, he dedicates his hours to fixing, cleaning, and pricing bikes. This is no small task and takes high skill.
