Part Time Fest is canceled. There isn't an apology strong enough for me to offer. I'm sorry I couldn't make it happen. I'm completely burned out and I was hoping this event would be the thing that took the shop to the next level. In reality it showed me how much I need to be there for my kids. How much I haven't been while putting everything I have into the shop.
I have infinite gratitude for everyone involved and I hope someone picks up where we left off. I was hoping to have the energy to get through the weekend and then make Part Time actually part time for me, but I have hit the wall. It would be disingenuous of me to try to put this on in the mental state I'm in. I hope you can forgive me for making the call so late.
I'm taking some time to clear my head. The shop is still going to be around so you can come get beautiful furniture and rad records from Jon and Joan. I'm sure the music will be more palatable for many. Thanks for the good times, see you around.

This weekend during Part Time Fest we're going to be collecting donations for Girls Rock! GRAND RAPIDS. Through our collective efforts we can support kids making music and finding their inner strength right here in GR.
If you've never been to a DIY benefit show here's how it works. The event is free to enter all weekend but we're encouraging everyone to pay what you can afford to support this empowering and inspiring camp. If we all chip in we can raise a stack of cash to keep sending kids to learn about teamwork, community, determination, and of course making rockin' music!
Head over to grgr to learn more about the camp and show up to the fest with a generous heart.
The FEST runs from 10a to midnightish the 14th and 15th right here in the shop!

Our celebration of DIY art, music and culture is this weekend! Thank you all for the hard work getting ready. I can't wait to see you all dancing at the shop all weekend. and PTR is going to be a real good time from 10a to midnightish the 14th & 15th. Hope you can make it!

Big shout out to for consistently bringing rad bands to town and finding sick local support and great rooms! Huge shout out to everyone who shows up and brings it!
I have been hugely inspired by our local DIY scene and these shows are basically why Part Time Fest is happening this week. Hope you can make it!

We're one week out from the first ever PART TIME FEST! Next Saturday and Sunday come to the shop and enjoy nearly 40 bands (slide two has the list) and so much more! Get here early both days because will be stabbing beautiful art into your skin (pending inspection but everything looks good).
Saturday and his Homebrew Club homies will be giving away some FREE samples of beer brewed just for the Fest! (Don't worry, they're Safe Serve certified, it's legit. 21+ ONLY)

A six hardcore band bill is the best way to spend a Sunday evening! with another banger last night! Spaced, Payasa, Full Stride, MDOP, Field Note & The Sissy Boys crushed. The pit was perpetual motion 🤘
Here are some highlights of the shots I posted on the photography account. WMHC is going off right now! I say it all the time but we're incredibly spoiled to have the Scheme in town! Such a great place to see any type of show! See you at the next one.

This year I've had the chance to see more live music than I ever have before. It's been rad to see so many folks I recognize from the shop at each show and how many new friends I've made. Just wanted to share some of my favorite memories from 2024 and inspire you to sneak out to a show or two this fall and winter. It's hard to fight through the (much deserved) negativity on social media but when things are bleak music is there for all of us. What's been your favorite show this year?
