The Refill Rundown
Happy May!
Or as some Mom's refer to it, Maycember. The sheer amount of events to manage this time of year can be overwhelming, many many school events, graduations, banquets, Memorial Day and Mother's Day, oh my! I'm exhausted just writing it all down!
Speaking of Mother's Day, we had such a lovely Mother's Day Tea event. There was about 20 of us, snacks, delicious tea from Willow Creek which is located just down Main Street from us, and thanks to all the wonderful knowledge from Rebecca at Elemental Wellness, we were able to create our own tea blends. Truly the best way to kick off the many events I want to host here in the store. I have a few events I have been noodling around. A repair event Co-hosted by the Open Market. A junk journal in a 3 part class with a local author friend of mine. I was also thinking about an educational class for people who want to learn more tips and resources for minimizing plastic and toxins in their life. Let me know if any of these events interest you.
I also have a new shelf designated in the shop as "the sharing shelf", take what sparks joy, leave what doesn't. All free, all love. I got this idea from The Milky Way Palisade. They have a little Trinket Trade box outside their store. We all have things sitting around that we don't love but we are not sure what to do with. I wish more things in this world could be shared and traded and bartered for. So look for the shelf next time you come in. I also want to bring in a few toys my kids have outgrown so that the little customers can take part in it too!
We know parking can sometimes be hard downtown and being downtown isn't as conducive to refilling heavy bottles in bulk, but let us know how we can help make refilling manageable for you! We are always willing to be flexible with how you refill! Want to drop off empty bottles to be refilled in the morning or your lunch break and pull up after work, we are happy to bring your order out to you! A quick phone call and we can run your card or you can fill out a form to store your card securely in Square. We believe in this business model and this community!
Lastly, I have joined the GJ Chamber and am looking forward to having a ribbon cutting here at the store. I will send out information as soon as it gets scheduled, maybe have a little flash sale that day....
We have a winner for the Massage Raffle! I have called her, so if I didn't reach out, better luck next time!
Local Partner Spotlight
We’ve been working with Compost Junction for about a year now — a wonderful local company run by Jamie! You’ve probably noticed the green 5-gallon compost buckets by the front door of the shop.
Compost Junction partners with Delta Compost, a Class 3 composting facility — the highest certification available in Colorado. Twice a year, participants receive finished compost back from Delta Compost, creating a true full-circle sustainability system. If you’re curious about how composting works, check out their website at deltacompost.com.
They offer several affordable pickup plans, including once or twice monthly service. It’s an easy and impactful way to support a local business that’s doing great work for our community — and you get nutrient-rich compost back twice a year!
Why does composting matter?
In the U.S., an estimated 30–40% of our food supply goes uneaten. That waste doesn’t just include the food itself, but also all the water, energy, labor, and resources used to produce it. Food waste is also the number one material sent to landfills, where it contributes heavily to methane emissions.
The more food scraps we compost, the less waste ends up in our landfills.
You can learn more about Compost Junction and why composting matters by signing up at their website compostjunction.com
Use promo code: NEWWAYCOMP to waive the $20 startup fee when signing up with Compost Junction.
Plus, once you’re signed up, you’ll receive 15% off our countertop compost bucket in-store!
Thank you for supporting local businesses and helping create a more sustainable community
