I've always believed that our surroundings play a pivotal role in crafting magical moments, even in the most mundane times. A touch of whimsy, a burst of color, a unique piece that sparks conversation—it's these elements that transform a space from merely functional to truly magical.

This brings me to a delightful discovery I recently made—Inspecial Home. It's not just their dazzling homeware that caught my eye, but their mission: to sprinkle a bit of magic into our routines.

What truly resonates with me is how Inspecial Home aligns with what I hold dear—the belief that our homes should be reflections of our personalities, filled with pieces that tell a story, that add a touch of whimsy to our day.

And because I want you to experience this magic too, I'm sharing an exclusive 20% off code with you! Use code: TAILORIE.

What is it about moody bedroom decor that just feels so... right? It's those rich colors, the lighting that dims, an atmosphere that whispers of luxury and private sanctuaries.

This ambiance reminds me of the decadent private libraries of old, or the velvet-draped corners of my favorite NYC hotels, like the Soho Grand and the Nomad. There's something about it that makes jazz music sound even better, and books more absorbing—it can create an escape within the four walls of our own homes.

With this style trending, of course, I needed to explore it. I have a spare bedroom to decorate, and I want to create a space where the world fades into soft background noise and where every detail invites my guests to unwind.

With thoughts of making every stay memorable, I'm curious: when you stay as a guest at someone's home, what special touches have you seen that make your stay most memorable?

I'm going to tell you a secret, one that as a retailer and curator of products, I probably shouldn't say aloud- but I'm going to anyway. I don't love Valentine's Day. Don't get me wrong I love a good gift, but more so when it's a delightful surprise, rather than what feels like a forced obligation.

So, how can we express genuine affection on a day that's become so commercialized? Bought a gift? Consider pairing it with something intangible—your time, a shared memory, a thoughtful conversation.

This Valentine's Day let's celebrate love in its most authentic form—unexpected, unscripted, and most importantly, far away from the notion that affection is best shown through what we can buy. ❤️ Because, at its core, love is about the moments that take our breath away, not the things that we can hold in our hands.

The usual or something new? This question shows up in our daily lives far more often than we might realize. Whether it's choosing the route to work, deciding on breakfast, or picking which coffee to sip—it's in these seemingly small, inconsequential moments that we practice the art of choice.

But when you stop and think about it, which direction do you find yourself leaning towards more often? Do you prefer the comfort and predictability of the familiar, or does the thrill of discovery and the unknown call to you? Have you ever stopped to think about why you lean one way or the other?

It's fascinating to think about how each choice, no matter how small, can tell us so much about ourselves, isn't it?

What sent me down this rabbit hole of thought today, you ask? My duvet cover, of all things. It has developed several small holes, the origins of which remain a mystery, signaling it was time for a new one. 😆

Have you ever felt a twinge of guilt shopping online for something you couldn't find locally? 🛍️ I've been pondering this question for many years, but again today, especially with all the discussions around Temu's Super Bowl ads.

My question is this, if a better option is available outside our local communities should we feel bad about choosing it?

I'm curious, how do you navigate this balance? Do you prioritize local when possible, or do you look for the best option regardless of geography? And how do you reconcile this with the desire to support your local economy?

Let's have an honest conversation about it. Remember, there's no right or wrong answer here—just different perspectives and choices we all make based on our circumstances and values.

This month, I'm hosting a baby shower, and let's just say, that all things baby are dominating my thoughts (as you may have noticed) but in the most wonderful way.

Being a mom myself, I’m naturally drawn towards toys and books that aren't just a source of joy and engagement for the little ones but also ones that carry an aesthetic charm, effortlessly fitting into the modern home. 🏡🎨 Discovering items that hit this sweet spot has been an adventure in itself.

And here's where my curiosity kicks in. With each item I select, I find myself asking: What will this teach? How will it inspire? Can it be both a plaything and a piece of art? It's these questions that guide my hand, seeking out pieces that spark imagination not just in children, but in us, the adults who share their world. 🌟

Cheers to finding the beauty in play and the play in beauty! 🎈

A little PS for you – the collections I share are ever-evolving, much like our tastes and discoveries. They're living, breathing compilations that grow as I uncover new items that not only capture my heart but, I hope, yours too.

It's funny how a toy I use as office decor can hold such a profound lesson. While I was looking at this corner of my office today I couldn't help but think about how the gentle and the bold coexist, not just on my shelf, but in life.

My plush plant is not just a piece of decor, but a reminder of the importance of softness in a world that often feels too sharp, and too angular. It's a visual nudge to not let the sharpness of the world dull our capacity for gentleness, for whimsy, for a bit of soft rebellion against the starkness of the everyday.

It's a small, everyday meditation on the contrasts that define our lives and the choices we make within them. It's a reminder that even in a world that often prizes the bold and the loud, there's immense power and beauty in the gentle and the quiet.

Curiosity has always been my compass, guiding me through life's most fascinating paths. It's what led me to open Curious, and it's what drives me every day to explore the unknown. From mundane moments to wild adventures and deep learning, curiosity has been the force behind it all.

This quote on the image, 'Curiosity isn't just a desire to know; it's the courage to question the familiar and embrace the unknown,' captures the essence of how I choose to live every day.

It's about seeking new experiences, diving deeper into mysteries that fascinate me, and finding the extraordinary in the everyday. Every question we dare to ask opens up a world of possibilities, inviting us to a life rich with discovery.

It's a reminder that to truly experience the fullness of life, we must be willing to step into the unfamiliar, to ask questions, and to seek out new experiences.

I'm forever grateful for curiosity.

We've received some thoughtful questions about our new direction and we want to address them, so let's dive in!

In the spirit of full transparency, yes, Curious earns a small commission from sales made through the products and links we share with you. Much the same as we used to earned our profits from the markups on the products we chose and stocked on our shelves.

This new model we are embracing allows us to continue bringing you the curated finds and recommendations you've come to love from Curious, without the need for physical inventory, which always constrained what we could share with you.

With a traditional retail model, we couldn't introduce a new product until we sold the existing ones on our shelves, and let's face it the world is moving faster. Why do we love this change? It's a win-win: we get to keep sharing our favorite products with you, and we support the brands and creators behind them.

Our new shift reflects the changing face of retail. It's about adapting to how you, our valued community, prefer to discover and shop for products in today's world. We believe in the power of recommendation, in sharing products that we truly love and think you will too.

This change also allows us to be more nimble, responsive, and inclusive in our selections. We're not limited by shelf space or inventory risks or pricing or distribution holdups – if there's something amazing out there, we can share it with you directly, no matter where it comes from.

We're leaning into this direction not just to stay relevant, but to enhance our ability to serve you better. It's about embracing the future of retail, where the lines between online and offline blur.

So, that's the scoop! We're excited about this journey and truly believe it allows us to offer more of what you've always loved about Curious. As always, we're here for any more questions you have.

Here's to evolving, together. 🌱
