Gong through my email today a picture of a knit pair of socks caught my eye. I decided to read the article and found out the pattern was free on Ravelry and almost 400 people have made the socks. The socks are the FILM REEL SOCKS designed by Alex Parker Mooney. All of us have a favorite genre of movie and this pattern allows you to “honor” your favorite genre by deciding which of four heels to knit…Thriller Genre (cut-in afterthought), Sci-Fi/Fantasy Genre (forethought), Action/Adventure Genre (German short row), and RomCom Genre (wrap-and-turn short row). Besides the designer giving you a choice of which heel you want to make, she presents many tips, tricks, and tutorials to guide you in your knitting.

The last couple of days I have been going through my stash (can you believe, one of our customers has no stash) to see what yarns I will need for the projects I have been thinking of doing in the future. Of course, I did not have the right weight, color, fiber, or amount of yarn needed for the projects. With all of the yarn I have at home, my husband could not understand that I did not have the “right” yarn for the projects, but he gave me guidance as to what I have to do. The challenge is on.

What is on your to do list for this Saturday…clean out the flower beds, grocery shopping, a nice long walk? Saturday is a very special day and should be on the top of your to do list. It is LOCAL YARN STORE DAY! and we have some LYS Day specials for you. Among what is being offered are 2 new kits…Casapinka’s Colossal Fluff Up Shawl and the Lexington Cowl, both of which are pictured here. There are other specials including a raffle sponsored by Berroco and some other kits on sale. We hope to see you on Saturday.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to knit brioche? There are spaces available for Tina's Brioche Hat Project-Along Class that starts this coming Saturday. Join us in this class where you will learn all of the skills required to knit the Harlow Worsted Hat by Andrea Mowry while knitting along over the course of three Saturdays. I realized last night I may be able to knit and crochet but I can’t count. That may explain why I sometimes find myself having to TINK (knit spelled backwards because you are having to tear out what you just knit).
