No creativity here. Just a daughter's sorrow. We've received the call to come home. Less than 24 hours is the likely outcome. Your love, support, prayers have all been so welcome during this time. And now it's here. No matter how much I think I'm ready, I AM NOT READY.

Have booked a flight to NC that leaves in a few hours. Will do the overnight vigil with Dad. He will not be alone if I can help it.

That being said, the shop is closed until my return. I'm not quite sure when that will be right now. Too much is up in the air. Will update as things settle. Right now my heart is already in NC. Need to get the rest of me there.

A quickie! One of the cookies from the Fresh Baked cookies collaboration. So quick and just lovely. Took right around 7 hours over 2 days. Designer: Chart: Baked Fresh Patriotic Cookies (includes 5 designs, this is just one) Fabric: 32 ct. Latte Country French Linen Threads: as charted (DMC)

And it’s done! A year-long SAL that at times consumed me and other times I wanted to bury it. I’m just so proud of this piece. Who knew a few xs and backstitching could be so intense!

One thread change — the border around the 13 colonies and the words needed to be darker in my view. I used Gentle Arts Wrought Iron.

One stitching change — the words are designed to be all
Algerian Eyelets. While I do love the look, it was very time-consuming and I wasn’t sure I’d get it done by the 4th of 2026. So I alternated rows with Smyrna Crosses. Eyelets were 1-ply, Smyrnas were 2-ply.

Also, did not do the backstitched bows & stars border.
