I started this Christmas present back in June, for it to be ready for gifting for Christmas, and needless to say, I was not disappointed! Nor were the receivers!
I added some notes of things that were discussed after taste testing it with the receivers! I'd love to hear if anyone else has any experience, suggestions, or thoughts!
Have you ever heard of, or tried Cherry Bounce yourself? Let me know what your thoughts are!
I will post the recipe I followed in the comments!
**Notes after gifting it for Christmas:
- I did not add the spices a couple of weeks before straining. I actually didn’t add them at all largely because I was lacking one of them, and couldnt find it locally and when I ordered online it didnt arrive in time. But the receivers said the spices were not missed at all, and they didnt feel they would be necessary to add them in the next batch either.
- We mixed ours with coca-cola, no measuring was done - just mixed until we reached our individual acquired taste.
- I did not strain the cherries out of the drink, and obviously did not chocolate coat them - largely because I just had so much to prep for Christmas, it just went to the back burner until it simply didn’t get done.
- Receivers agreed adding a hint of chocolate or potentially vanilla would be a good addition. Ideas discussed were drizzling chocolate on the inside of the serving glass, or adding vanilla extract directly to the drink.
- Stay tuned for more experimenting with this - I've ordered 360 Double Chocolate Vodka & Ugandan Vanilla Beans from Vanilla Bean Kings to make a chocolate noted vanilla extract, and a second bottle to make the cherry bounce in to add the chocolate flavor to the drink that way.
- The receivers have requested I have a batch of this going at all times since it takes so long to make.
This is my favorite part about homemade things - is experimenting to customize it to our liking to figure out what we like best!
