About Cavallo: German born artist Beate is a Fine Arts Graduate in Printmaking from the Corcoran Gallery School of Arts (Washington D.C.) In 2010, after successfully running some of th

e area's best frame studios, she set out to open her first busy venues, LA LINEA BELLA and ATELIER ONE GALLERY in Charlottesville. In 2017, she fell in love with and moved to beautiful Historic Gordonsville, where she re-opened as CAVALLO GALLERY and recently expanded into her new gallery space. Many of her clients have been with Beate for over 20 years, and she is excited to now offer her creative ways of thinking, love of good art and caring personal service here in Gordonsville to clients from as far as Richmond and Northern Virginia. Cavallo offers fine art framing with a European flair, original art, and artisan favorites. I set out in 2010 in Charlottesville to join the world of independent framers and feel incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by all of my creative clients (and gallery artists) and their beautiful work - every day!

If you're on the hunt for a great frame, look no further than our showroom & gallery here in Historic Gordonsville (worth the beautiful drive!) • I love anything from traditional and hand gilded to super-modern with a bright pop of color.

Recognizing what you feel is beautiful is my favorite part of the process. Design is by appointment so that you and I have all the time and peace you need to create something you will love.

You can find Cavallo at 117 S. Main Street in historic , and our gallery hours are Wednesdays through Saturdays (details on our website).

• Welcome back! It's a super busy week here, so just a few updates!

• Woodberry Forest based artist James Erickson stopped by yesterday with a great new body of work - I will be framing a selection of those and sharing them with you over the next few weeks. A few beautiful pieces have already made it to our walls, so stop by soon to see what's new!

• I'm finishing a big, beautiful order for a special project in Richmond this week, so limited appointments for framing will be available (call today to block off your solo design time!)

• We have some great new neighbors who will be joining un on Main Street in the next few months! Main Street is working on a new website for you so that you can stay up to date ~ we're excited!

• "Summer of Steam" happens every Friday: take a scenic nostalgic train ride from Louisa to Gordonsville and enjoy a few weeks along Main Street before you hop back on to return to Louisa (July & August).

• In August, it will be 9 years that I fell in love with and moved my business to sweet little Gordonsville. It's been exciting to be a part of charming historic Main Street and see all of the transitions and growth that have happened in that time.

We like to say Gordonsville is a "small town with a big heart" and the variety and quality of the small artisan businesses and restaurants speak for themselves, as do the great friendships between all of our local entrepreneurs.

This year brings even more new unique businesses and events to Main Street - if you're new to Gordonsville, we hope to see you here on a weekend or free day sometime so you can find out why we all 🤍 !!

• SUMMER OF STEAM • Monday, June 22 • Staunton meets historic Gordonsville when the legendary Norfolk & Western 611 brings a group of enthusiastic travelers for a special event here in Gordonsville.

Staunton is one of my favorite day trips and features unique independent businesses and great local restaurants with a similar welcoming vibe as Gordonsville - Main Street looks forward to hosting this special group!

The engine will be on display for photo opps & discovery near the Exchange Hotel for about 2 hours, starting around 12:20 p.

Join us along Main Street for lunch at one of our local restaurants and explore the shops while you're here! • We recommend Well Hung Vineyard Restaurant, Jackson & Co. Market, Barbecue Exchange, and the Gordonsville Ice House for lunch.
(Additional quick food options will be available near the Visitor Center.)

Parking: street parking. • Be prepared to walk a short distance. Gordonsville is super cute and you will love every step;)
