🧵 Machine Embroidery Tip Tuesday 🧵

Did you know that stabilizer should be matched to your fabric and project—not just your design?

Choosing the right stabilizer can make a huge difference in stitch quality, registration, and the overall look of your embroidery.

Here’s a quick guide:

✨ Wash-Away Stabilizer
Perfect for towels, freestanding lace, and projects where you don't want stabilizer showing after stitching. Many embroiderers like to use wash-away topping on top of towels to help keep stitches from sinking into the nap.

✨ Cut-Away Stabilizer
Best for stretchy fabrics like t-shirts, knits, and sweatshirts. Cut-away remains with the project and provides long-term support to prevent distortion after repeated washing.

✨ Tear-Away Stabilizer
Great for stable woven fabrics like quilting cottons and many home décor projects. It provides support during stitching and tears away easily when you're finished.

A good rule of thumb:
👉 If the fabric stretches, use Cut-Away.
👉 If the fabric is stable, use Tear-Away.
👉 If you need the stabilizer to disappear, use Wash-Away.

The right stabilizer can make the difference between "good" and "wow!"
