Ms. Jan kept such a clean and beautiful home. We’re honored to manage her belongings, prepare the home to be sold. Many friends have stopped by and expressed such appreciation for their friendship. We hope this sale has celebrated her memory.

Thanks y’all! We had a great turnout on Day 1 — more than 70 cars lined the road when the doors opened. We appreciate your patience; internet/phone service is very poor out here and we had some trouble processing credit cards, which caused a delay at checkout.
There are still a lot of nice things for sale. I’ll make a second post around 9:30 showing what’s left.

One of my favorite parts of the estate sale business is seeing the memories that come rushing back for people.

Sometimes it’s an old photograph. Sometimes it’s a yearbook. Sometimes it’s a simple item that instantly takes someone back to another time in their life.

Today, I had that experience myself.

While setting up an estate sale, I came across a photo of my Pa, Roy M. McConnell. He was a great man—a preacher, teacher, and principal who dedicated more than 40 years to serving others. He loved kids, believed in education, and left a lasting impact on countless lives. Seeing his picture stopped me in my tracks and brought back such wonderful memories.

Education has changed a lot over the years. I know that firsthand, having spent part of my own career in the classroom. But one thing hasn’t changed: great teachers and school staff can make a lifelong difference.

As another school year begins, I want to wish all the students, parents, teachers, administrators, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, custodians, and support staff a safe, successful, and rewarding 2026–2027 school year.

Here’s to a great year of learning, growth, and making memories that will last a lifetime. ❤️

How far would YOU drive for a great estate sale? 🚗🛍️

This morning I’m headed to Pleasantville, TN to meet with a family about what could be a large estate sale.

It’s a 198-mile round trip from Ridgetop, and it got me wondering…

How far are most people willing to travel for the right sale?

Over the years, we’ve had shoppers drive from several states away. A couple of years ago, people even flew into Nashville for one of our massive guitar sales because the collection was so unique.

Some projects become more like missions. This past weekend in Goodlettsville was one of those.

When we first walked through the door, we knew this wasn’t going to be an ordinary estate sale. It was one of those projects that makes my team look at me like I’ve lost my mind. 😄 But after five years and nearly 150 sales, they’ve learned that somehow we always find a way.

This sale challenged us every step of the way, but we were determined to honor the family by creating an organized, welcoming sale that gave these belongings one more chance to be appreciated. Looking back at these before and after pictures, I’m incredibly proud of what our team accomplished together.

To my crew—thank you. Your willingness to tackle the jobs that most people would walk away from is the reason Country Roads Estate Sales has earned a reputation for taking on the “impossible.” Every box moved, every shelf organized, every late evening and early morning mattered.

And to everyone who came out and shopped with us—thank you. Yes, you may have gone home with “something you didn’t need,” but your support means so much more than a purchase. The conversations, the laughs, and the familiar faces every weekend are what make this business special. You’ve helped us build something we’re incredibly proud of.

Every home has a story. Some are just harder to uncover than others. We’re thankful to have been trusted to help write the final chapter for this one.
