This Reconciliation Week, the theme is “All In”, a call for all Australians to step forward and commit to reconciliation through both voice and action. 💛

At One Thread Collective, we want to be all in by supporting Children's Ground, an organisation creating long-term change for First Nations children, families, and communities through prevention, empowerment, education, and community-led solutions.

This cause is deeply meaningful to our brand, with our co-founder Megan having worked closely alongside Children’s Ground and witnessing the importance of investing in future generations through community, culture, and self-determined change.

For every Mostaza Mochila sold this week, we will be donating $10 directly to Children’s Ground 💛
Show us your “all in” by wearing yellow with purpose, shopping our yellow collection, or donating directly to Children’s Ground using our links ✨

After months of thoughtful creation, our long-awaited Original Designers Collection is finally LIVE on our website.

You may remember these designs from The Regenerative Runway last December and while many have asked why it’s taken time to launch them online, the answer is simple: each piece has been selling at our in-person events faster than we can produce them.

These one-of-a-kind designs are intricate, intentional, and deeply rooted in craftsmanship. Many take our artisans multiple attempts to perfect, reflecting the care and artistry woven into every piece.

The collection was developed through a year-long Product Innovation and Cultural Design course at our Yala’yalaa School for Women’s Empowerment, co-created alongside our partners at Fundación Talento Colectivo

Every part of this process has been slow and intentional by design, because this is what slow fashion truly means.

We’d love for you to explore the inspiration and story behind each design through the product pages on our website.

Unpopular opinion: AI is a new wave of colonialism.

We’re very uneasy over here about where the boom is headed, and we personally are not embracing it as part of our business model.

Especially concerning is news of data centers popping up in places like Santa Marta, a Colombian city that’s already experiencing chronic water shortages.

We welcome you to share your thoughts in the comments 👇🏽 but please keep it kind and informed 💛

MEET THE TEAM💛

These women are part of the many communities we work with. Today, we’re highlighting the weavers and artisans from the rancherías of Kululumana and Mouwasira in La Guajira, Colombia.

Meet some of the incredible Wayuu artisans behind One Thread Collective, the women who hand weave every mochila with generations of craftsmanship, culture, and care.

Each piece represents more than fashion; it carries the story, artistry, and resilience of the community behind it.

Support the work we do by shopping our pieces, sharing our story, and helping us continue creating meaningful opportunities for these communities. You can also choose to make a donation, with every contribution directly supporting the women and the communities behind our work 🤍 ✨

Something magical happens when women share in sacred circle 🪄

Last Friday evening we hosted a gathering together with in our new shop in Santa Barbara, CA.

The goal was to deepen our sense of belonging & connection with each other while creating a bridge between our community of supporters in SB and our Wayuu sisters in Colombia 🌈

Isabelle led us in a heartfelt Q&A exercise that we replicated in one of our empowerment workshops in Colombia, and we channeled our prayers into handmade gifts for the artisans 🤲🏽

This is the first of many intentional gatherings in our new space in downtown SB. If you’d like to join us for the next one, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter via our website!

A little recap from our beautiful day at the Terrey Hills Market last week 🤍

We’re so grateful for such an amazing turnout and to have shared the space with so many incredible vendors passionate about sustainability, slow fashion, handmade goods, and supporting small businesses. Events like these are such a special reminder of the power of community and conscious shopping.

At One Thread Collective, every piece carries a story, supporting artisan women and communities in La Guajira through ethical craftsmanship and meaningful opportunity. Seeing so many of you connect with the pieces in person, hear the stories behind them, and support the work we do means more than you know.

If you missed seeing us at our Sydney market last week, don’t worry, we have a very exciting event coming this August that we can’t wait to share with you soon.
Make sure to keep updated with our page for all the details. We would absolutely love for you to experience our pieces, and the beautiful community of stalls and makers around us in person very soon ✨

In the meanwhile shop our collection online🤍

Happy Mother’s Day 🤍

Today we celebrate the mother’s behind our work, our artisans, whose hands and stories shape every piece.

We celebrate our community, the mothers, the daughters, and the women who show up with care, strength, and love every day. And we honour all those who hold the role of a mother, in all the ways it exists.
This day is for you.

For those who feel called to give further, you can support a mother through our work via the link. Supporting the women behind our work means supporting their future, their families, and the communities they hold together.
