Happy Migratory Bird Day! 🦆🕊️🦅

Today we celebrate the incredible journeys birds take across the globe — and reflect on how vital it is to protect them. 🌎✨

Did you know that under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA), it’s illegal to harm or possess migratory birds — even their feathers or taxidermy mounts — without a special permit? This law has been protecting over 1,000 species since 1918 including ducks, hawks, owls, and many more!

This is why Golden Curiosity Shop and other oddities shops cannot buy or sell many common bird species. While migratory birds are absolutely stunning, it's important to respect these legal protections. Taxidermy, when done legally with proper documentation and permits, can help educate and inspire — but never at the cost of conservation. 🐦💙

(And yes, we know some of the birds on our alignment chart aren't technically migratory birds lol)
