🚨🚨NEW SCAM ALERT🚨🚨
Please be aware of anew scam making its rounds. I've got 2 customers now with this infection.

So this strongly resembles a scam or deceptive payment page, and I would not enter any personal or credit card information.

🚨From the images, several red flags stand out:

🚩* “PC APP STORE” is not a well-known or official Windows or Microsoft service.
* It’s asking you to create an account and provide full credit card details before you can proceed.
* The small print at the bottom mentions a ”$19.99 card validation charge may be applied.” Legitimate software stores generally don’t require a paid “validation charge.”
* The page displays numerous payment and security logos (Visa, Stripe, PCI-DSS, 3D Secure, etc.). Scammers often copy these logos to appear trustworthy—they don’t prove the site is legitimate.
* The generic wording (“Create Your Account,” “Secured Form”) and lack of identifiable company information are common characteristics of scam subscription pages.

🚩This type of page is often associated with:

* Fake software download sites.
* Browser hijacks or malicious advertisements.
* “Free trial” scams that enroll users in recurring monthly charges.

🚩If someone already entered their card information:

* Contact the card issuer immediately.
* Ask them to watch for or block recurring charges.
* Monitor the account for unauthorized transactions and consider requesting a replacement card.

Based on what I’m seeing, this does not look like a legitimate Microsoft or Windows screen. It looks much more like one of the fake “PC App Store” subscription/payment scams that have been circulating through misleading ads and potentially unwanted software.

If you know how or when this screen appeared (for example, after clicking a website, opening an email link, or installing software), I can help you determine whether it’s just a malicious webpage or a sign that adware has been installed on the computer.
