Some of you know me as Chris, some by my nickname "Buddy", and some I've never met yet. I've lived in Glenview since 1985. Born in Cleveland, Ohio (North Olmsted), moved to a tiny rural town in Michigan (Hartland), got my degree in Civil Structural Engineering from the University of Michigan, where I played Alto Horn (French Horn) in the Marching Band for four years. So I'm like 4 exits past Rah-R
ah on Highway Go Blue. I'm equal parts Danish (last name, meat, potatoes, butter), Norwegian (nature, music, seafood), Slovenian (part of the Austro-Hungarian folk costume industry) and Slovak (dark non-Scandinavian complexion and stuffed cabbage). I'm 55 and very happily divorced (from a wonderful talented woman and mother with the patience of a saint), single and straight. I built Nuke Plants, then I built subdivisions, then in 1997 I started designing and building gardens. Then in 2010 I started selling trees and shrubs for the best Nursery and Garden Center in the Milky Way Galaxy. You should go there. I may already know you from there! Because after Jesus, my kids, my Mom and Dad, my friend Posey, the Michigan Wolverines, Felco Pruners and Howard's Restore-a-Finish I am head over heels Ga Ga about the place! NOW:
I have always collected, restored, lived with and sold good stuff. And in my off hours and the slow time from Christmas to Tax Day, I concentrate on the merchandise side of my old landscape business, MIDSUMMER GARDENS! This is my part time business. You see, you like, you buy, you tell friends, they buy, I eat, I buy more. Prices are always, I mean ALWAYS, negotiable! I will teach you how to haggle fairly. How to recognize quality. How to do stuff yourself. And we will have FUN! I promise you, I am fully and certifiably a passionate, crazy man who is wild about old wrought iron patio furniture and quality American made or World Craftsmanship sourced things for the Garden (mainly) and the Home (because you can't garden all year in Chicago). Wasn't that fun? And none of this is going to be on the test!!
