He-Man and the Masters of the Universe review. (No spoilers)


I was a big fan of the 80s cartoon and they a took things directly to make an amazing live version of the show. Doing a review of this isn’t as simple as saying # of stars and done. It have to be broken down by good and bad.

The Good….
Character and set design- it was like they took the designs right from the cartoon. There wasn’t one character I looked at and said “who was that?”

He-Man & Skeletor. I thought the two main characters were amazing. I wasn’t familiar with the guy who played He-Man and he looked great and this has to be my favorite Jared Leto character. Even like the voice.

Teela. Everything about her is good

Special effects: they didn’t skimp on special effects. Him using the sword, action scenes, skeletons face to even cringes/battle cat. All looked good.

The bad…
Dialogue. Some of the dialogue seemed to to stretch on longer then it needed. I think it was one why of poking fun at the cartoon but some went on too long.

Pacing of the movie. The movie is 2 1/2 hours long. Some of the scenes could be cut down a little bit.

Second in commands…
Two characters I didn’t care for or they could’ve done differently was Man at Arms and Evil Lynn.
I probably would’ve cast different people on those roles.

Overall, I found this movie incredibly entertaining. If you’re any type of fan of the 80s cartoon then I think you’ll enjoy this movie.
