Okay, okay...we know it's late but it IS still technically Watch Wednesday. 🤷‍♂️ This is a striking Ulysse Nardin Automatic from the 1950s. It's WATCH WEDNESDAY! Today we're displaying a circa 1918 Elgin Grade 315 Model 3 pocket watch. It has a premium 15-jewel movement with an expansion balance, Moseley regulator & Breguet overcoil hairspring. Check out the special gold plated screws in the movement! This watch was originally sold a la carte at a time when customers went into a jewelry store and chose the dial, movement & case they wanted. This Elgin has a 25-year 14K gold filled case but was available in 5 year to 25 year cases, as well as silveroid cases (silver colored metal alloy).

This Elgin was restored in 2018 & presented to our 9-year old son as a Valentine's Day gift. He chose a watch chain charm that is an enameled Lebanese 5 cent coin in honor of his Phoenician heritage. He may seem young for a watch like this but he's an old soul and wears it proudly with his suit on Sunday!

Nikki is wearing a Rolex Tudor Prince w/a California Dial from the 1980s. It IS a mid-size mens watch but she likes the slight oversize. She wears it nearly every day & it looks great with most anything, Cool watches aren't just for boys!! 🤗

Today, Paul is wearing his grandfather's 1936 Hamilton Seckron. Papa Wady bought this "doctor's watch" in NJ while attending Rider College (now University) and took it with him to Columbia University for his Masters before returning to Colombia (yep, S. America 🇨🇴) to follow his father's footsteps in the family clothing business. This watch was typically used by physicians because one dial displays the time & the other the seconds, making it easier to take a patient's pulse. Papa Wady just thought it looked cool! This solid 14K gold filled watch has a Hamilton 17-jewel Calibre 980B mechanical movement. It still keeps great time & is a pretty neat convo piece.
