Just in case: don't forget tomorrow starts the new Facebook rule where they can use your photos. Don't forget the Deadline is today!!! It can be used in court cases in litigation against you. So here is some information for my fellow guides and guide services. The CARE package of governmental aid has earmarked 300 million dollars for the fishing industry. According to AFFTA we qualify. Regardless of that snippet, aid for all contractors, 1099 employees, ect has been outlined in the SBA Forgivable Loan portion of the aid package.

The information so far has offered very little clarification as the aid package is in it's infancy. The overall picture shows that this is the aid package that is geared towards us. Regular state unemployment is something that we have never paid into and have never qualified for. I am not aware of any provision in the aid package that allows contractors and 1099 employees to collect regular unemployment.

Here is my own interpretation of the information provided in the links listed below.
- Aid will be based on the period of Feb-Mid June. Possible loan amounts could go up to 2.5x earnings for that period based on last years earnings during this time period.
-All contractors, 1099 employees, and business owners with less than 500 employees qualify.
-The loans are up to 100% forgivable. The criterion for what deems any amount forgivable is unclear. I would fathom a guess that one would have to prove losses in order to have income lost forgiven.
-It appears that the money is on a fast track for distribution, and that clarification is in the works.

NOTE: I would STRONGLY advise against applying for this aid until more clarification takes place. The Orvis ELOG program has been monitoring this, as well as AFFTA. Additionally, our Roaring Fork Guide Association based in Basalt, Colorado is researching this program. Any clarification that I come across will be listed here. If any of you find anything else pertinent or helpful please include links in your comments. Hope this helps, and aid is clearly on the way.

Well folks the "let 'er rip" is on. 400% of normal rainfall for the last month or so has pushed reservoir levels to all the TVA will hold on to. Time for big rods, big flies, and big fish. Generation plus sluicing flows equals big boy water. It's streamer time!!!

This is why you don't camp at Shadrack Campground. This is also the view from where I camp right behind it. 3 to 5 inches of rain over a few days will do this every time. They should shut that business down. It's absolutely shameful that they don't warn their campers about what happens several times a year.
