When I was a kid I spent hours viewing 3 Dimensional pictures stories. This one is in great condition and in the original box. Victorian lachrymatories or Tear Bottles.
That’s what some people call these. There’s a lot of folklore surrounding these curious glass receptacles. It is said that they were used at Victorian era funerals for mourners to collect their tears which would then be sprinkled on the grave on the first anniversary of the death. Other stories are when the tears evaporate then the mourning period ends. Regardless what they are used for these bottles never fail to spark interest.
