Join us Wednesday, July 1 from 6 to 8 pm for Songwriter Round at the Underground, hosted by Mo Bell and Jason Kyle Smith, with special guests Jen Tackett and Josh Lawson.
This will be an evening built around the stories behind the songs, the kind of set where you get to hear the heart of the music straight from the writers themselves.
Mo Bell brings a love of blues, R&B, rock and roll, and the sounds of the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s. His music pulls from the days of records, radio, and cassette collections, with a little something for everyone to enjoy.
Jason Kyle Smith was born and raised in the hills of Eastern Kentucky and has always turned to music for enjoyment, calm, and connection. After settling in Georgetown, his love for concerts and local music inspired him to pick up the guitar and start singing. A self-taught musician, Jason brings a sincere love for songwriting and the way everyone hears music differently.
Jen Tackett, a singer-songwriter from Georgetown, grew up on a farm where her love for music and agriculture took root. From singing “Hey Good Lookin’” on the kitchen table at four years old to writing songs that share her trials and triumphs, Jen’s music lands somewhere between Debbie Harry and Dolly Parton. For Jen, songwriting is not just something she wants to do, it is something she has to do.
Josh Lawson is a storyteller at heart, blending the grit of Americana, the soul of folk, and the raw edge of blues. His songs dig into hardship, resilience, and the risks we take while chasing something better. Whether solo or playing with projects like Linville & Lawson, Billy Two Shoes, or The Kokotto Comeback, Josh brings lyrics that hit hard and melodies that stay with you.
Come hang out, grab a drink, and settle in for a night of local songwriting at Georgetown Underground.
Happy Hour beer special: $1 off beer during the event.
