Latest . Red poppy quad in acrylic ink on 10x10 canvas. My heart still hurts over the ‘23 poppy fest rejection, but slowly getting over it. Recently, I had the pleasure of discussing juried art events with a highly accomplished and exquisitely skilled fine artist who shared they choose not to participate in juried events. Not because this person is so successful it’s not necessary (tho there is that and then some), but because of the often political, singularly subjective, and biased nature of most jurors/jury panels. I’ve heard this refrain from several artists. So, I’m working on not caring. Perhaps I’ll strive to be a best-selling artist who has never been “juried in.” 🙄😅😎 In the meantime, I’m working it out with poppies. 🥰
