Nathaniel's Custom Hats -- Exquisite custom made hats using traditional methods

Diane .sisters.ranch.tx and family dropped by to pick up their hats yesterday. The inset picture is of my tools as I get ready to pencil roll Diane’s hat. It is always gratifying to see someone put on their hat for the first time, take a look in the mirror, and smile. Give them a follow and check out their pasture to table offerings.

We just finished this “Explorer” in charcoal color. It’s adorned with a black round braid and matching Stampede string. We originally designed this as a fishing, hiking hat, but it has evolved to be one of our more urban styles.

Some new logo wear hot off the press! My buddy Tim Tim Calkins designed these shirts for us. We’ve sold a few already. Come on by and get one!

We just built this stock chocolate hat. The finish has been called a Wooly, S**g, and a Grizz. I’ve even heard it called “A workman’s finish.” I was told before that when a Cowboy couldn’t afford a new hat, he would wire brush his old hat to make it look new. We refer to this style as a Rimrock.

Having an end of the season sale on Straw hats tomorrow. If you’re in the market for a straw, stop on by.

We just built this stock wh***ey color “Lizard Head” in size 7 3/8. Jennifer jennifer_lynn_music graciously modeled it for us as she was performing at Mesquite Creek Outfitters tonight.

Happy birthday, Jordan! She came in with friends today who treated her to a new hat. It made Kerrie and me happy to see them having such a good time helping her pick out a hat and band.

Charcoal sure makes up a good Cattleman. The 4 1/2” brim along with a 5” crown makes you want to stand a little taller. It’s not 10 gallon, but close.

I love to build different hats for people. Our customer requested a hat from one of my favorite movies. This is our version of Jason Patric’s Lt. Gatewood hat in “Geronimo.” In the framed picture Robert Duvall, in the same movie, is wearing a hat built by Steve King, the hatter that I apprenticed with in 1994.

Arrow and Ezra modeling our Lizard Head style hats in Sahara back in 2020. A cool memory I wanted to share. Saturday Ezra will be 18 and the next Saturday Arrow will be 22. Where did time go?
