🖋️ Maya Fisher is a transgender Appalachian author and the founder of One-Legged Woman Publishing LLC. She is the author of the Reborn In Shadows series, a contemporary thriller trilogy that explores identity, resilience, and survival in the face of systemic violence and personal loss. Her work blends suspense-driven storytelling with deeply human character studies, centering q***r and marginalized voices without softening the realities they face.

Maya’s debut novel, Reborn In Shadows: From the Ashes, has received national recognition and has been selected for inclusion in the Library of Congress. She lives in southwest Virginia with her partner and continues to write stories rooted in place, justice, and the belief that survival itself can be an act of defiance.
