π§ Appliance Tip Tuesday π§
Did you know that overloading your washer can lead to expensive repairs?
When a washer is packed too full, it puts extra strain on important components such as the:
βοΈ Drive Hub β Helps transfer power from the transmission to the wash basket.
βοΈ Suspension System β Keeps the tub balanced during the spin cycle.
βοΈ Drive Components β Including the motor, belt, clutch, or transmission depending on the model.
Signs your washer may be overloaded regularly include:
β Loud banging during spin cycles
β Excessive vibration or shaking
β Clothes coming out soaking wet
β Washer stopping mid-cycle
β Premature wear on internal parts
A good rule of thumb is to fill the basket loosely and leave enough room at the top for clothes to move freely. Your washer cleans best when water and detergent can circulate through the load.
Taking a few seconds to avoid overloading can help extend the life of your washer and save you from costly repairs down the road.
