Two Ravens sit on Odin’s shoulders and whisper all the news which they see and hear into his ear; they are called Huginn and Muninn. He sends them out in the morning to fly around the whole world, and by breakfast they are back again. Thus, he finds out many new things and this is why he is called ‘raven-god’ (hrafnaguð).

Raven's fly over this land, circling, searching and calling their news. They welcome me in the morning, landing in the tree tops they are ever watchful throughout the day. The sign that Odin's eye is on me, walking with me, teaching, training and correcting. His wisdom always available through the faithful companions of Hrafnagud.

May his presence be ever felt through this work.

For one he is "Greenman", to another he is "Cernunnos", and to another he is "Freyr". Protector of the forest and animals, insuring that all are abundant. That protection is aided by the fey, fairies, dwarves, landvaettir and the forest itself.

There is spirit energy in all things. The land, the grasses, trees, stones, animals, birds, rodents, insects all have a vibration and energy. When one is dis-eased the others are impacted. When one is attacked, the others respond. It is s symbiotic unit of life which we used to be part of. Our ancestors taught the value of all the components in a forest. You did not enter fairy rings. You did not remove a stone or wood or harvest herbs without asking permission and leaving a gift. They taught that you must recognize the spirit within and honor it. Animals were not harvested for sport but to answer practical need and the animal was honored in its giving. Meat, bones, hides, and horns were all put to use by skilled craftsman. There was no waste. Even entrails were given to the scavengers.

Walking in the forest, feet on the land, ears attentive and spirit open....you can hear them....the whispering sprits of the forest. May this become a declaration and remembrance that returns us to ancient ways.
