“Spear” is Australian slang for surfboard. Southern Spears carries a large selection of surfboards from shapers in Australia and Texas – both southern in their own right. 9’8 Hansen “The Master” Powerflex consignment board in the shop! Called Hansen Surfboards in Encinitas to chat about it. They’re estimating 1960’s to 1970’s. Glassed in single fin. Water tight. A circular burn towards the nose. Looking to get $900 for this beauty. It’s been hanging on a wall for 40 years! Let’s give it some new life!

13th Annual Ohana Dog Surf Comp!!! Embarrassed that we didn’t get more pics and vids as we were concentrating on judging today! What an incredible event put on by Ohana Surf & Skate benefiting the Galveston Island Humane Society. The sponsorships and the number of people were INSANE this year! Praying some of the dogs that were up for adoption get their furever homes! We had a great time! Was weird not having a dog in the comp. But our fat little old Chihuahua Poopie going out on top last year was the best! Hopefully next year we will have a competitive Hound Dog! Watch out California…we have the BEST dog surf comp in the WORLD!
