Lately, I’ve been struggling. Mentally. Emotionally. Physically.
The kind of tired that isn’t fixed by sleep.
And in the middle of that, I painted cat bu****les.
Not because it’s profound.
Not because it’s marketable.
Not because anyone asked me to.
Because it made me laugh.

Sometimes survival looks like doing the most ridiculous, unserious thing you can think of and doing it anyway. Not for approval. Not for claps. Just because it sparks something in you that feels alive.
Life is already heavy. Brutal, sometimes.
We don’t need to add to it for ourselves or for each other.
If something harmless makes you happy, even if it’s weird, even if people roll their eyes do it. Paint it. Wear it. Sing it. Build it. Post it.
Joy is not embarrassing.
Cruelty is.

So here’s to ridiculous art.
Here’s to coping out loud.
Here’s to not making this already hard world harder for the people in it.
And yes. These are cat bu****le watercolors.

Doing a synesthesia piece for someone who is willing to share their story of the song is always an honor. Thank you Ms. Terri for sharing a part of your heart with me. I loved doing this piece for 'Time in a Bottle' by Jim Croce.
I was fun giving it an element of 3D with the watercolor standing about the repurposed. Wallpaper. I dont generally do something so obvious but the pocket watch was too perfect saying "Time is on Your Side". 🩷🎨
