First: thank you. Genuinely. You showed up, bought from us, cheered us on, and kept us going through the hardest year we’ve had. You have no idea what that meant — and still means.
Unfortunately, since September last year, our experience with Painted Tree Boutiques has, frankly, been a nightmare. Vendors across the country — us included — have been left unpaid, support tickets ignored, and then on Tuesday we were told at noon that we had 6 hours to move out completely or they “couldn’t promise we’d ever get anything back.”
Six hours. After everything we’ve poured into making it work.
The company is rumored to be filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Their public line is “changing economic times.” The truth is they stopped paying their bills — vendors, landlords, and others — months ago, while still collecting fees from small business owners, still expanding, still making promises. You don’t wake up one morning and close a multi-million dollar company. The people running this watched it deteriorate and kept building anyway. That’s not misfortune. That’s a choice.
Meanwhile, thousands of vendors — real people who poured their savings and hearts into this — are left scrambling for money they’ll probably never see.
We believed in this. We saw it as a real chance to grow something sustainable. Instead, it nearly broke us.
But we’re still here. Regrouping, rethinking — more wholesale, maybe something we haven’t landed on yet. Whatever comes next, we’re building it on solid ground.
Stay tuned. More soon. ❤️
