Hey there! 👋 I’m kicking off March Meet the Maker with a little intro post.

The prompt is “You and your work” which made me realize I don’t seem to have ONE SINGLE photo of me and my products TOGETHER 🧐

So the closest I could find was me taking photos of my tumblers and mugs on a trip to Colorado a couple of years ago.

And since I love to travel and take photos I guess it works pretty well for an intro.
Also-
✨ I’m Andrea
✨ I happen to be traveling right now (Argentina)
✨ I ended up as a maker/business owner after a long period of studying/teaching/and studying some more.

Although it was a great experience I realized I loved calling the shots and having the freedom to forge my own path even more.

So here I am, still learning new things and making sure I don’t shy away from the scary things that owning a business can throw at you. 🙂

This is the face you make when you’re 100% done shipping out Christmas orders!
There are still a few stragglers coming in (to be honest if I even shopped, that would be me - thankfully Chris does almost all our Christmas shopping 😅) but the frenzy has definitely calmed down.
I’m SO SO thankful for another great year with the shop. Sales have continued to grow year over year and I’m finally feeling more confident that choosing to run a business instead of being a college professor was the right choice and not a pipe dream ☺️.
(📷: my sisters and I at .lil.things for Christmas photos. And I should mention that my sisters have also been hardworking elves at the studio. No one is safe from helping out! 😜)

It's definitely starting to feel like Fall around here and I'm all for it! 🍂
Also, wouldn't mind a little cabin in the woods right now either. :)

It's the weekend!! What adventure are you going on? 🥾

(Mine are more domestic this weekend - buying some mums and pumpkins, making room for the new laser, and cleaning/organizing the house!)

These days when things really start to ramp up as I prep for the busy holiday season, I find so much comfort in taking a break and going for a quick walk on a trail (and if it’s through a forest even better). 🍂🥾

Do you have a favorite go-to trail?

My favorite easy-to-get-to trail right here in town is the Stinson Creek Trail.
A bucket list trail would be to hike a part of the Appalachian Trail ❤️

Poppin in to say hi!! I’m Andrea, the maker behind the scenes here at Fab Station. These might be the top 3 things to know about me:

1) I have the cutest wiener dog named Sage. I’ve been slacking on sharing photos of him but that’s about to chaaaannnggeee! Prepare yourself 😆

2) Sweet > Salty foods

3) I suffer from extreme wanderlust, which I’m pretty sure slightly terrifies my husband (still here though buddy 😜). Just got back from Alaska and already wanting to plan my next trip. Probably to Argentina, because I’m traveling in alphabetical order- jk, it’s because I haven’t been in forever and I miss my family and friends. 🥲

4) BONUS! I love love love emojis and have to really hold back from using a bajillion in each post. It’s not easy but I do it for you (and because I don’t want to look crazy 😬🤪😂 - see what I mean)

We’ve wrapped up the Alaska family trip and I’m already missing this view (my sister’s house!! told her I’m pitching a tent and staying next time 😄)
BUT- coming home and seeing Chris, my pets and sleeping in a real bed definitely helped! 😊

We’re starting to gear up for the holiday season and will soon be cranking out all kinds of tumblers, including this one for those awesome dads in your life. 🥰

Colors of Alaska in September 🏔🍂

The hardest part of driving the RV around was not being able to stop on the fly to take photos of the amazing scenery we were passing by.
I’m a cautious driver so I usually had a line of cars behind me (sorry! 😅) and I was bit slow to react when we would pass by a place to pull over.
Last time we visited, my husband was driving so I could get some decent photos from the moving vehicle if we couldn’t stop.
All of this just means I’m going to have to come back again- darn the luck lol

Looks like we might be in Bigfoot country here in Alaska. 😮 We stopped by the Alaska State Fair and he was part of the logo, driving around we’ve seen a couple of huge cutouts (although to be fair I’ve seen them in Missouri too) and there have been little sightings of Bigfoot gear in several of our stops. I guess I never paid that close attention until I made this design for the enamel cup/tumbler. Looks like Bigfoot isn’t that hard to find after all 😆

Stayed up until 2:00 am but it was oh so worth it!

On our last trip to Alaska several years ago I missed seeing the northern lights (the one night they were active I was sooo tired I just couldn’t wake back up to see them).

This time I made sure to not fall asleep and had my camera ready. They weren’t as bright to the naked eye but were great with the right camera settings.
📷This is a time lapse of 250 photos taken every 3 seconds with a 1 second shutter speed.
