Back in 2024, Kellye Casey introduced me to Nealy and told me I had to meet her and hear about the incredible work she was doing through her nonprofit We Choose Happy
Not long after, my sweet neighbor Nichole Mourar was sharing about the We Choose Happy gala and all the amazing things this nonprofit was doing. It felt like everywhere I turned, another friend was connected to We Choose Happy, and I just loved seeing so many people I care about rally behind something so special.
Fast forward to Tuesday.
A little context: since about July 8, it feels like every single day has brought a new crisis, frustration, foster care drama, medical event, appointment, X-ray, or ER visit. Tuesday was the first day that felt normal. Better than normal. Everyone is okay.
We got to experience what a “Happy” really means!
B was so generously nominated by my neighbor to receive a Happy, and that Happy was the gift of summer camp.
Tuesday, I left a little piece of my heart at summer camp. I definitely cried a few tears on the drive home. But I know B is about to have an unforgettable week! Being poured into him with the love of Jesus, making new friends, and experiencing a week filled with encouragement, faith, and fun.
When you support nonprofits like We Choose Happy, you’re giving to kids like B and families like ours. In the middle of one of the hardest months, this week is a gift beyond words.
My heart is so incredibly grateful (even though I miss my boy! 😭)
