Private Equity Firm Acquires West Coyote Hills, Announces Plans for “West Coyote Hills Bike Park”
Fullerton, CA — In a move expected to reshape outdoor recreation in North Orange County, a private equity group, Summit Ridge Capital Partners, has officially acquired the West Coyote Hills property with plans to develop the region’s only premier mountain bike destination: West Coyote Hills Bike Park.
The proposed development is designed to rival top-tier facilities such as SkyPark Bike Park, offering a purpose-built riding experience for cyclists of all skill levels.
According to project leaders, the park will feature:
Over 20 miles of professionally designed trails, ranging from beginner flow trails to advanced downhill lines
Dedicated jump lines, pump tracks, and progression zones
An electric-only riding section tailored specifically for eMTB riders
A closed-loop e-moto track with weekly race events inspired by the legacy of the Orange Y BMX track
Night riding capabilities with fully lit trail systems
On-site amenities, including a bike shop, café, and rider lounge
“We’re building something that Orange County has never had—a centralized, professionally designed bike park that serves both traditional riders and the rapidly growing e-bike community,” said a spokesperson for Summit Ridge Capital Partners.
The development is expected to generate increased tourism, support local businesses, and create a new hub for cycling culture in the region.
Early concept plans also include youth development programs, race series, and partnerships with local cycling groups, positioning West Coyote Hills Bike Park as both a recreational and competitive destination.
Pending final approvals, construction is projected to begin in late 2026, with a targeted grand opening in Spring 2027.
Community feedback sessions are expected to be announced in the coming months.
