🚨 Attention witches, wizards and muggles! 🪄

Due to the recent snowfall and anticipated weather this weekend, we have decided to reschedule our Harry Potter Book Night event to March 7, 2026.

As a ticket holder you should have received an email already about the new date. If you are still able to attend on the new date, your current ticket will still be valid for March 7. However, if you cannot attend on March 7, please email the CLC as soon as possible to let us know.

WANTED: SNOW SHOVELING ASSISTANCE IN FROSTBURG

TO HELP: If you're willing and able to help residents with snow removal, you're going to be needed after this weekend's snowstorm. Please leave your contact info in the comments below.

IN NEED OF HELP: If you're a City resident and unable (as in elderly or disabled) to shovel the snow from your sidewalk or driveway (laziness is not a disability btw), help may be on the way! Although we can't guarantee a dog will shovel your driveway, we'll do our best to put you in touch with someone that may be able to help.

If you're in need of assistance or know of someone in need of assistance that is not likely to see this post, please check the comments below and feel free to contact those willing to assist to see if they can help.

FIRE HYDRANTS: To any residents that would be willing and able shovel snow from around any nearby fire hydrants so they are clearly visible and quickly accessible, it would be greatly appreciated! It could make the difference in saving a house or a life, maybe even your own. Thank you!

✨ FREE CHILDREN'S EVENT!!!!✨

🏴‍☠️⚓️Ahoy pirates! ⚓️🏴‍☠️

Yo-ho-ho! Only ONE week to go! 🎉

It is about time for our annual pirate themed event, Pirates Ahoy! FREE Children's Event!! 🥳⛵️

This year Pirates Ahoy will be Wednesday July 9th with the festivities starting at 9AM!

We will start the day at City Place (14 S. Water Street) where we will Scallywag Walk our way to the Hotel Gunter Frostburg Ballroom (11 W. Main Street) for the author presentation!

This year we are welcoming…. 🥁🥁🥁
Mike Allegra author of this year’s featured book, “Pirate & Penguin” as well as the sequel “Pirate & Penguin 2 Few Crew”

Following the presentation from 10:15am- 12:45pm, there are multiple stops to explore:

⚓️At City Place you can make 3 crafts, participate in pirate themed activities, make a balloon sword, play pirated themed games, dig for treasure, and have multiple photo opportunities!

⚓️At the Community Center you can dig for seashells, hoist the sail, swab the deck, and join in on a pirate sing-along hosted by the HRDC Senior Centers Activity Group!

⚓️Throughout Frostburg we will have a Treasure Hunt with participating businesses where you will solve a riddle and win a small prize at each stop and a larger prize once the riddle is solved!

⚓️At St. Michael Church Courtyard there will be a pirate pitstop where there will be Large Yard Games & Water Drinking Station, sponsored by FrostburgFirst

⚓️At the Frostburg City Police Department there will be Lemonade with the Law and Frostburg Fire Department Kids’ Demonstration in the Police Station Parking Lot.

Following the event at 1:00pm there will be a Pirate After-Party taking place at the Frostburg Freeze (225 W. Main Street) where there will be Lunch Specials, Games, and Water Slide! 🙌🏻🍦

We look forward to seeing you this year for another year of pirate mayhem!! 🤩⛵️

Don't miss the Frostburg Art Walks happening day as well as the Allegany County Public Schools Art Show at City Place. J-R's is also honored to host some additional artwork from the Mountain Ridge High School Art Dept. Stop in and check it out! On display also are two special pieces A Winter Solider Wire Shield Made by our own Trinitie Beeman (Allegany College Art Dept) and an autographed copy of "Alligator's Baby Teeth" Illustrated by our own Phoebe Shuttleworth.
