Amazon just informed me that I can no longer sell on their site because my shipping rates are too slow. As I work full time for the Federal Government, and run my online business (www.AIRshowsAmerica.biz) on a very limited part time basis, I only ship once a week, and Amazon expects me to ship daily!

I am hoping to draw my Amazon customers to my various pages in hopes of continuing my business.

If you are one of my old customers, I invite you to try either my FB stores or my online store, and mention "Amazon Sucks" for free shipping.

McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) F-15B Eagle, #71-0291
USAF, #71-0291, Eagle Prototype Demonstrator
Farnborough International Air Show, England
US Bicentennial 1976

The McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) F-15B was originally designated McDonnell Douglas TF-15A in the early 1970’s. Aircraft 71-0291 was the second two seater variant produced. It made its first flight on October 18, 1973 and was re-designated an F-15B on December 1, 1977. This particular F-15 Eagle (71-0291) was extremely valuable to the entire Eagle air frame development timeline, and saw action as TF-15A, F-15B, and F-15E during development and demonstration periods. One stop in 1976 was the Farnborough Air Show wearing a paint scheme to celebrate the 1976 United States Bicentennial. 71-0291’s career ended as a Battle Damage Repair trainer.

Designed to meet US Air Force requirements for an air superiority fighter to replace the F-4 Phantom, the F-15 Eagle first flew on July 27, 1972. The Air Force needed a fighter that could engage long range targets, a skill the F-4 did not possess. The F-15 has a pulse-Doppler radar system, which can track small high-speed targets up to 120 nautical miles away and can lock its missile onto targets up to 50 nautical miles away. With more than 100 aerial combat victories, the F-15 is said to be one of the most successful modern fighters. It is expected to remain in service until 2025.

Douglas A-20K Havoc, #44-0613
USAAF 410th Bomb Group, 645th Bomber Squadron, 7X-T
Nose Art: "Helen"
Coulommier AB, France, 1945

The 410th BG was activated June 1943 in Oklahoma and joined the 9th AF. Equipped with the Douglas A-20 Havoc light bomber, the 410th BG flew their first mission on May 1, 1944 from Gosfield, England. The BG took part in pre D-Day operations and supported the actual invasion. The 410th BG moved to Coulommier AB, France in September 1944 until February 1945. In December 1944 they helped stop the German offensive in the Ardennes. 7X and white cowling rings identified the 645th BS.

The Douglas A-20 Havoc was an American light bomber employed during WWII. It served with several Allied air forces, principally the USAAF, the Soviet Air Forces and Naval Aviation, and the British Royal Air Force. It was also used by the air forces of Australia, South Africa, France, and the Netherlands during the war, and by Brazil. The A-20K was the final production version of the A-20 series, and carried an additional bombardier in an extended acrylic glass nose section. The A-20K intended to lead bombing formations, with the following standard A-20s dropping their bombs when signaled by the leader.

Boeing (F4B) P-12E Biplane Fighter
United States Army Air Corp (USAAC)
Flight Demonstration Team: 'The Skylarks'
USAAC Air University, Maxwell Field, AL, 1937

The Skylarks were formed in 1935 and instructed by Captain Claire Chennault of the aerial demonstration team "Three Men on the Flying Trapeze" that disbanded in 1936. Flying the Boeing P-12E the team learned tight formations such as loop formations, inverted flight, Immelmans and double rolls. The highlight of their short existence came when the team performed at the 1937 National Air Races held in Cincinnati Ohio.

Designed by Boeing in a private venture to replace the F3B and F2B, the F4B first flew on June 25, 1928. The F4B relied upon the same Wasp engine as its predecessor, but it was smaller and lighter and therefore performed better and could achieve greater speed. The F4B was flown by the Navy and by the US Army Corps, who designated it P-12. It was the US military's and Boeing's last wooden-winged biplane fighter.

Lockheed Martin (General Dynamics)
F-16CJ, #90-0829, Fighting Falcon "Viper"
USAF 22nd Fighter Squadron 'Stingers'
Spangdahlem AFB, Germany, February 2007

In 1994 with USAF Europe restructuring, the 22nd FS (Stingers) moved from Bitburg AB, Germany to Spangdahlem AB to replace the 480th FS. The 22nd FS acquired the 480th FS F-16 Fighting Falcon and 90-0829 was one of these aircraft that at one point became the squadron flagship. In 1998 the 22nd FS primary role changed from general-purpose air interdiction to that of "Wild Weasel" suppressing enemy air defenses (SEAD). The Stingers remained in this role until 2010 when restructuring de-activated them and re-activated the 480th FS.

Designed by General Dynamics as a lightweight, daytime USAF air-combat fighter, the F-16 was first flown on January 20th, 1974. This single-engine, supersonic aircraft has, over the years, evolved into a multi-role aircraft. It has a frameless bubble canopy—giving its pilot superior visibility—and it uses advanced aerodynamics. The F-16 was one of the first designs to use a relaxed static stability/fly-by-wire system, which helps it pull 9-g maneuvers and achieve speeds of more than Mach 2. Called "Viper" by its pilots, the F-16 is considered one of the most successful aircraft designs of the Cold War, with 4,400+ aircraft built since 1976.

Douglas DC-4, N88886, c/n 27311
Pan American Airways, "Clipper Mandarin", 1950s

Douglas C-54E-5-DO Skymaster was built as c/n 27311 with serial 44-9085 and delivered to the USAAF on April 5, 1945. Not long after it was bought back by the Douglas Aircraft Company and converted to a civil DC-4. On November 14, 1946 the aircraft was purchased by Pan American World Airways as N88886 and named "Clipper Mandarin" and later wore "Clipper Frankfurt", "Clipper Pegasus" and "Clipper Hannover". In January 1961 this aircraft was sold to Trans Mediterranean and then to Aviation Traders in November 1963 and converted to an ATL-98 Carvair.

Designed to meet a United Airlines requirement for a long-range passenger airliner, the Douglas DC-4 was first flown on June 7, 1938. The prototype was a very ambitious four-engine, pressurized aircraft that was three times the size of its predecessor, the DC-3—a design that proved far too expensive and difficult for civilian airlines to maintain. Douglas revised the design, but by the time it was complete WWII was well underway and development of the aircraft was channeled to the US military. Post-war, the DC-4 became a popular and reliable airliner with major carriers such as National and Northwest Airlines.

Boeing B-377 Stratocruiser, N1030V, c/n15930
Pan American Airways, "Clipper Reindeer", 1952

N1030V was delivered to Pan American Airways in March 1949 named "Clipper Southern Cross". It was manufactured as c/n 15930 model Boeing 377-10-26 and eventually renamed "Clipper Reindeer" as well as "Clipper America". The aircraft was withdrawn from service in 1961 and in February 1962 the aircraft was sold to the Israeli Aircraft Industries and registered as 4X-AOH.

Designed as a long-range airliner for premier services across the Atlantic and the Pacific, the Boeing 377 Stratocruiser was first flown on July 8, 1947. This luxurious post-war double deck propeller airliner had a spiral staircase leading to a lower-level lounge and state-of-the-art pressurization, but it was expensive to maintain and operate. Just 56 of the type were built as airliners—the remaining saw service as C-97 military transports or KC-97 tankers. Stratocruisers continued to fly commercially until the 1960s, when the introduction of the Boeing 707 and the de Havilland Comet made them obsolete.

Lockheed L-188A Electra
Turbo Prop Airliner
Los Angeles Dodgers, N1R "Kay-O",
Nose Art: MLB World Champions 1963

Team owner Walter O’Malley wanted a Lockheed L-188A Electra for his Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team and acquired one owned by General Motors. In the spring of 1961 it was given a customized paint scheme and interior and named Kay-O after O’Malley’s wife. After winning the 1963 World Series the aircraft received a special paint scheme and continued to transport the team until 1970 when the Dodgers purchased a Boeing 720. The Electra was sold to American Airlines as N1432 who in 1995 sold it to Air Spray in Canada.

Designed and built by Lockheed for American Airlines, the L-188 Electra first flew on December 6, 1957. The L-188 was the first turboprop airliner produced in the United States, with standard seating for 66 to 88 passengers. Powered by four Allison 501D-13 turboprops, the aircraft performed nearly as well as contemporary turbojets but cost less to operate. Unfortunately, two fatal accidents quickly eroded faith in the type and led to early cancellation of production.

Fairchild (Fokker F27-100) Friendship, c/n 6
West Coast Airlines (WCA), N2703, 1958

Fokker F-27 N2703 was c/n 6 and was delivered to West Coast Airlines (WCA) on August 8, 1958 assigned fleet number 703. WCA had a total of 31 aircraft with 14 being F-27. WCA was the first operator of this type of aircraft. On January 17, 1963 a crew of 3 were on a training flight when the aircraft crashed into Great Salt Lake, Utah killing all on board. The crash investigators determined the cause was due to the crew’s lack of vigilance during descent resulting in impacting in the lake.

The Fokker F27 Friendship was a turboprop airliner designed and built by the defunct Dutch aircraft manufacturer Fokker. Design of the Fokker F27 started in the 1950s as a replacement to the successful Douglas DC-3 airliner. The manufacturer evaluated a number of different configurations before finally deciding on a high-wing twin Rolls-Royce Dart engine layout with a pressurized cabin for 28 passengers. The F27-100 was the first production aircraft and the length was increased to accommodate 44 passengers. The F-27 was the U.S. manufactured (Fairchild) version of the Dutch built Fokker F27 Friendship.

West Coast Airlines was a regional airline linking smaller destinations in the Pacific Northwest with larger cities in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Montana, California and north to Alberta in Canada. West Coast was the first regional airline in the U.S. to operate turbine powered airliners when it commenced Fairchild F-27 turboprop flights in September 1958.
