To tell you the truth, I’m losing more fish with the Honryu method than I do with regular fly fishing.

Like in this video, I often have to run downstream with the fish because of the limited line length. But I’m getting older and slower, and I just can’t run up and down the river like those 20-year-old guys anymore.

That said, I really like the Honryu style because it gives me a direct, exciting connection to the fish through the rod. You can feel every strike instantly. If you enjoy streamer fishing, I think you’d like Honryu too.
