In case you've noticed Foote's Rest blocked off. This is the big hole that is being dug for the underground parking and the hotel to be built. The Sweet Shoppe will be back open in late 2027 when the project is complete. We look forward to seeing you then!🍦

Foote's Rest Sweet Shoppe will temporarily be closing Halloween night. The much anticipated start to the hotel project will soon begin. We will be here in the same historical building known as Foote's Rest since 1946. We appreciate our many customers, employees, and the friends we have made over the past 13 1/2 years. The Foote Family looks forward to welcoming you all back when we reopen! Our love to each of you! ❤️

We had to say good-by today to our beloved Charlie. He was nearly 14 but had a cancer in his eye that had grown considerably. He was in pain, so it was time.
He arrived in our yard one afternoon from ferrel parents. He was so tiny I had to feed him kitten milk in a tiny bottle. He went camping with us hopping Around the campfire. He climbed large pine trees while recuperating from a broken leg as a kitten that he sustained when I accidentaly stepped on him.
Charlie even made a trip inside Cracker Barrel with me when we were moving and it was 110° outside...
Charlie was the mascot of the Sweet Shoppe... and had many customers that loved him. There has never been a cat like him. He would run off dogs, and has been known to chase the fox out of the driveway. He would follow all of the construction workers around inspecting their jobs when the Sweet Shoppe was underconstruction. Whenever there was a festival on Main Street, Charlie would wander around the vendors. He even made the local news paper one day.. then when he came up missing for two days even the Frisco police were looking for him. He was found shut in the neighbors shed! Many of our house guests and customers have their "Charlie Stories!"

Charlie will be greatly missed. 😿❤️
