Pappy’s prime rib rub bacon sliders
Ingredients
• Meat: 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 blend works best for juiciness)
• Seasoning: Pappy’s Choice Prime Rib Rub
• Bacon: 4–6 thick-cut slices
• Toppings:
• 1 Red onion, sliced into rings
• Cheddar or American cheese slices
• Dill pickle chips
• Buns: Slider buns (brioche or potato rolls)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Bacon
For burgers, “weaving” or cooking the bacon until it’s flat ensures every bite has crunch.
• Place bacon in a cold skillet and turn to medium heat.
• Cook until crispy, flipping occasionally.
• Drain on paper towels and set aside.
2. Grill the Red Onions
• In the same skillet (using a bit of the leftover bacon grease) or on a grill, lay the red onion rings down.
• Sear for 2–3 minutes per side until they have char marks and are slightly softened. Set aside.
3. Season and Prep the Meat
• Divide your ground beef into small slider-sized balls (about 2–3 oz each) and flatten them into patties.
• The Pappy’s Secret: Generously coat both sides of each patty with Pappy’s Prime Rib Rub. This rub contains salt, garlic, and beef flavor that enhances the natural richness of the burger.
4. The Sear
• Heat your grill or cast-iron skillet to medium-high.
• Cook patties for about 3 minutes on the first side to get a nice crust.
• Flip, then immediately place a slice of cheese on top.
• Cover the pan or grill for 1 minute to melt the cheese completely.
5. Assembly
• Lightly toast your buns.
• Place the patty on the bottom bun, followed by a piece of crispy bacon, the grilled red onions, and pickles.
