Music is heart healthy. When music is played, blood vessels dilate and blood flows more easily. Additionally, heart rate, blood pressure, & cortisol (stress hormone) levels decrease. Music is processed by the amygdala, which controls emotions. It increases serotonin, endorphin, and dopamine levels, which can reduce anxiety & elevate mood.
