June has brought life to the hive! Unswarmed colonies are teeming with bees, and while the queen’s egg-laying may slow a bit, the main honey flow should be kicking in 🍯
The hive is strong, busy, and full of energy — this is when you truly see the payoff of a healthy colony. You should be performing weekly inspections to ensure hive health and queen presence. Add honey supers as needed to keep up with nectar flow, keep a close eye out for signs of swarming, and stay connected by participating in bee club meetings through michiganbees.org — there’s always something new to learn!
June is a rewarding (and busy!) month for beekeepers — every visit to the hive is a reminder of how incredible these pollinators are. 🐝
