There is SOOOO much unnecessary discouragement and HATE among small businesses, especially those who do similar work to your own.
As a predominantly sign maker, I have been spoken negatively by people I don’t know, who produce similar products.
I’ve had fellow makers leave me NEGATIVE reviews over products they have never purchased.
I’ve even had a sign maker post a social media status, roasting me over a simple spelling error I made on stories once 🙃 … because none of us curse out autocorrect ever. Never.
However. This is post isn’t geared towards hate or discouragement or the masked jealousy. It’s not about the limitations OTHER people have attempted to put on MY business or about what they are or can not do vs what I am and can do.
It’s about a text I got last night.
This is Lindsey, another SIGN MAKER.
Another sign maker, who SHARES the same demographic of customers as me.
Another sign maker, who will answer any question about paint and tools and lasers I have and don’t know where to turn.
Another sign maker, who will literally just listen to me complain.
Another sign maker, who is HAPPY to share in the creativity.
Another sign maker, who knows the traditional route isn’t always the right one.
Another sign maker, who understands that helping another small business, cheering them on, sharing a resource does not and will not take away from the blessings and wealth coming to them.
She understands that the more you give, the more you will receive. Empowering small businesses, empowering WOMEN OWNED small businesses, does not and will never come from selfishness, but rather only comes from selflessness.
Because of this support, I will always always always recommend Sweet September Lane Custom Signs and Workshops. I will send you to her from customs. I will send you to her for things I won’t and can’t and don’t want to do. I will never stop telling you to support her and the dream she has turned into not only her career, but the precedence she has set for small businesses.
In a world of Amazon prime and Kardashians, be a Sweet September Lane and a Lindsey.
And go give her pages a follow. You won’t regret it.
