Whether you’ve been working on your Read Broader Bingo Card from Curious Iguana or you’re looking for new and diverse book recommendations, you should join us for our first Read Broader Book Swap on Monday, August 24 from 6 pm-7:30 pm at Simple Theory Wine Co in Downtown Frederick! Open to all, this event is the perfect opportunity to meet other readers and share the diverse books that we’ve read as part of the Read Broader challenge this year. While you’re encouraged to bring a book or two to swap, we will also have Read Broader Bingo cards and free books for swapping. Come with a book to share, stay to enjoy the wine and community, and leave with a new adventure to start!

This event is free and open to the public. We are proud to partner with Simple Theory Wine for this event.

A day filled with romance readers and love! 🥹💖Thank you to authors Emilia Renay, Mary Cain, Anna Applegate, and Helen Domico for joining us today. You can find signed copies of their books here at the Iguana. We still have plenty of Blind Date with a Book options, romance reads, and fun merch! Swing by and celebrate with us till 8 pm. 🎉🥰

YOU’RE INVITED! 📚💜🔥 Join us for an exciting evening at Attaboy Barrel House for Hot People Read: A Book Fair for Adults on Friday, August 21! From 4 pm-8 pm, find us with tables FILLED with the best reads of the season, Ekiben on-site with their food truck offering some mouth-watering bites, and Attaboy with refreshing beer and seltzers till 9 pm! We hope you can join us for the hottest bookish party to end the summer! 

This is a free event open to all! No registration or sign up is required, just show up and have some fun! Please note that furry friends are only allowed to hang out if they are outside in the beer garden and we are not accepting additional vendors or authors to this event.

Parking: Park on-site or park at the East All Saints Street Parking Garage (125 E All Saints St, Frederick, MD) and enjoy a 7-8 minute stroll to the venue.

Our window is ready for Bookstore Romance Day! 🥰 This will be the 7th year we have celebrated and we hope you can join us this Saturday, August 15!

We are welcoming four local romance authors to the Iguana for in-store book signings and meet & greets. We’ll also have our highly desired Blind Date With a Book display full of wrapped books for your delight. Come out to support local authors and find your soulmate in a book! 💜📚🥰

Thanks to everyone who joined us last night (including a furry friend named JJ) to celebrate NYT bestselling author W.H Chizmar’s debut solo novel, Them! This post-apocalyptic horror is perfect for fans of Stephen King’s The Mist and Josh Malerman’s Bird Box. Definitely a must-read as spooky season approaches!
