I thought I always knew what freedom was and what I envied in others who had the freedom to do whatever they want, whenever they want. But in reality, what I have seen is those that portray "Freedom" by going after whatever shiny new things come along with no regrets, they are actually beholden to the persona of a free person, keeping up the appearance of being free, or letting their addiction actually rule their life.
So they are actually ruled by their sense of freedom rather them letting them experience happiness, because that would mean their idea of freedom has to change and the persona they created is false. Which is an identity crisis, and who can handle that?
By transformation I do not mean you just move places or kick everyone out of your life and say life is different. Because no matter what, you are still there with the same ideas, beliefs, constraints, addictions, etc. It is truly transforming from no longer people pleasing, no longer relying on the addiction or obsession, going against old beliefs that hold you or others back. It is truly transforming who you are and STILL keeping the same people in your life while making room for more.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
