Vaughn Leather is my shop where I craft gun holsters, knife sheaths, belts and bags for gunfighters, cowboys, motorcycle enthusiasts, adventurers and explorers of all kinds. My leatherworking lineage comes from the ragged edges of the American west. I sell the kind of stuff made by cowboys and gunslingers waiting out a blizzard in a remote log cabin, hand stitched by the firelight. When you open t

Last year was quite a roller-coaster for Vaughn Leather. We moved to a new farm with more land, developed a new rental property, got into raising cattle and I had a major surgery for a life threatening disease that took quite a while to recover from. Leatherwork was pretty much on hold. Now life is settled down a bit and I'm finding time to get back to work.

Most interesting project I've done in a while. I spent a lot of time designing to make this bag functional, durable and aesthetitacally pleasing while remaining rugged and simple. Small enough to carry on an airplane but large enough for a three day trip, this handstitched duffel can be strapped to the back of a Harley or front of a parachute. A Brazilian cowhide body adorned with a unique patina of brands and range scars is contrasted by a darker American Hermann Oak strap and handle system.
Honestly, I kind of want to keep it for myself. The wife says I have to give it to the customer. The customers pretty awesome so I guess she's right.
