A quick before and after of what the calibration process looks like for a player system.
Over time, player pianos will need to be adjusted because the friction points in an action or in the player system will change. Keys will play too loud or could drop out entirely. Sometimes, this could be subtle, but often, we find a lot of player systems that are way out of wack.
Let us help! We are the experts when it comes to player systems. We specialize in Disklavier, QRS, and Piano Disc installations, maintenance, and upgrades.
During your next piano tuning visit, we would be happy to test the player system and make sure it's working at 100%!
When tuning a piano, we prefer to take our time, a stable temperature and humidity environment, and have absolute silence. BUT that's not how it always goes. 😅
Have a great weekend!
Absolutely love how this piano turned out! It's hard to capture the 3d effect of the finish on video when walking around the piano, but it's so striking in person. The shop team really put in some hard work and it shows!

We're often asked about the benefits of voicing and if it will make a noticeable improvement in the tone. Absolutely!
Note: The difference in tone is much more dynamic in person than recording using a phone.
Over time, as a piano is played, the hammer felt becomes more and more compacted, causing the tone to become bright and harsh. Pianos that are played heavily over many years can form deep grooves in the hammer felt, which commonly produces a thin, almost metallic tone. Voicing can restore this to bring out a richer, more balanced, and clean tone.
In this video, you can hear the transition between the voiced and un-voiced sections. Although the volume of the un-voiced notes is louder, the tone is much thinner and harsh.
This Yamaha C3 now sounds very clean and balanced and is performance ready!
