Thank you for taking time to look at Something Old! My eCrater store is an extension of my antique business that started in the late 1970s. I only choose things for my inventory that I would care to keep for myself. I have traveled with my husband literally all over the world---for him to present medical papers and to stay up to the minute about sports medicine

, giving me the perfect opportunity to shop for treasures. I started out just selling textiles---table and bed linens, gorgeous hand towels, and wonderful laces. But they have gotten harder and harder to find. So, in order to stay in business, I had to start collecting other types of things---always things that I love---primarily silver, porcelain, and glass. I have been a member of the Little Glass Club in Memphis for years, which originated in the early 1900s. Each month's program is devoted to a different type of glass, so it has been wonderful to learn about the glass and then find a piece. The few new things that are in my collection are things that I truly believe in. Like the Wright's Silver polish...It is the best that I have found, and I polish a lot of silver! It literally takes me 3 days to polish it all when the mood strikes me or when I get embarrassed enough! Like the Rosy Rings candles...They are absolutely the most delicious smelling candles. I choose different fragrances for different areas of my home. I love the smell of the Damask Rose when I am luxuriating in a soaking tub. The Spicy Apple is wonderful in the kitchen/keeping room. And each of my guest rooms has its own fragrance. My friends love to receive one of these candles as a gift, too! Like the new selection of lamp finials that I am just starting to carry...I think finials add sparkle to a room and add the finishing touch to a lamp. I have a different one on every lamp in my home, chosen according to the style and the setting. And the finials make great, inexpensive gifts. If you become a customer, you become a friend. I hope you will think of our relationship that way. I have made some wonderful, enduring friends over the years as a result of Something Old. That is the lagniappe of my business! To see lots of my inventory, please check out my eCrater web store.

It has been a long time since I have published anything on this page.
I’ll try to do better.
It is always a fun time when the Nashville Antique Show and the Fiddlers Antique Show come to town, especially since they are on the same weekend at the same venue.
Message me if you are interested in purchasing and we will work out the details.

This antique Japanese Imari plate is a fine example. The shape is a scalloped square with clipped corners, measuring 10 3/8" in diameter. The center reserve is water with reeds and iris, cranes, and florals. The band is quite colorful and diverse with lots of florals. The coloration is primarily blue, red, gold, and green. The piece is unsigned.

W. Davenport & Co. manufactured earthenware pottery, porcelain, and glass at Longport, Staffordshire, England, from 1793-1887. This plate was produced, according to the incised hallmark on the back, in 1856.

It is a beautiful 10 1/2" dinner plate in a Chinoiserie pattern with peonies. It has rich, deep colors of cobalt and rust with no chips, cracks or utensil marks, only some very fine crazing commensurate with being 166 years old. It is about as good as it gets! Please zoom in on all of the photos and satisfy your mind.

The pattern number is 1193 written in yellow under the glaze.

There are 4 plates available at $295 each. (15% discount to my Facebook friends if you purchase from me directly. Message me if interested.)
Purchase all 4 for an intimate dinner party or one or more to display.

I have just added some new acquisitions to my eBay site, and here are three of them. If you are interested in anything that I have for sale, please send me a Messenger message and let me know.
The giraffe wall bracket is just about the cutest thing I have seen in a long time. It would be adorable in a child's room!
