We’ve been hard at work on some new additions for the Bourbon Tasting event tomorrow night in Franklin, IN. Over 36 different types of bourbon, whiskey, and other bottles. Here’s a sneak peak of what we’ll be bringing.

How does it get from bottle to dish? Once a bottle is empty it must be washed and all labels and such removed. Bottles are then dried and prepped before being placed in the kiln. The bottles are then fired for about 9 hours reaching a maximum temp of about 1400 degrees. The bottles remain in the kiln until the temp reaches about 100 degrees (it takes a while). Once removed the melted bottles are then cleaned again and decorated with beads and wire. If the label is reattached there are a few more steps in that process.

Most bottles come from friends and also the recycling center; a few from personal use😉
